How to Play Donutsorelse Games
There are three ways to play on this site: host a party game with friends, join a friend's party, or play one of the daily solo puzzles. This page explains each.
Hosting a party game
- Open donutsorelse.games on a shared screen — a TV, laptop, or projector.
- Click Host a Party.
- Pick a game from the list. Each game shows a player count and a one-line description.
- The host screen displays a six-character room code.
- Share the room code with friends. Round starts once everyone joins.
The host screen drives the game. Prompts, drawings, reveals, and voting all happen there. Players input their answers on their own phones.
Joining a party
- Open donutsorelse.games on your phone.
- Click Join Party.
- Enter the six-character room code your friend shared.
- Pick a name. You are in the room.
- Follow the prompts on your screen during the game.
Playing a daily puzzle solo
The daily puzzles do not need a room. Pick one from the daily games page and start solving. Your progress and streaks are saved on the device. Signing in (optional) syncs streaks across devices.
Playing a road trip game
Road trip games run on a single phone. Open one of the road trip pages, hand the phone to whoever is reading prompts, and everyone else plays out loud. See the road trip games page for details.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot join a room. Double-check the room code is exactly six characters and that the host has not closed the room. Codes are case-insensitive.
- Drawing tools laggy on phone. Close other browser tabs or apps. The drawing canvas uses HTML5 canvas which is faster on a recent phone.
- Daily puzzle reset early. Daily resets happen at local midnight. If you traveled across time zones, the date may have shifted.
